Meeting Report on Shipbuilding Contracts – Negotiating for Success presented by Harilaos Petrakakos at the SNAME Greek Section’s monthly meeting on March 13th, 2019.
During the seventh section meeting for the 2018-2019season Harilaos Petrakakos, Senior Marine Consultant at P&P Marine Consultants Inc. and Secretary/Treasurer of the SNAME Greek Section, examined the Shipbuilding Contract; highlighted that it is very important for the technical team of the owners to make all necessary examinations of the specifications and the drawings, as the Contract is above all these documents that are referenced and included as attachments; and touched upon the reason why the shipyards in Greece cannot work with such a contract.
A Q&A session succeeded the presentation.
The meeting was well-attended by representatives from all segments of the industry that had the chance to network at the post meeting reception.
