SEAPerch a Success at Webb Institute!

This year represented the second year in a row that the Student Section of Webb Institute hosted a SEAPerch competition for Long Island Middle School students. This year's event took place on Saturday May 15, 2010 with over 30 students in 15 teams. A quarter of the section membership at Webb participated in the days events by volunteering their time, serving as mentors, referees, and judges. This year the competition was split into two classes of competition with each class competing in two games. Class I competed in a ring collection, and obstacle course game, while Class II conducted a drag race and mine release competition. The event served as a wonderful opportunity for the student section at Webb to broaden the publicity of SNAME and the academic program of Webb Institute. Currently serving as the only student section to host the SNAME sponsored competition, the current leadership at Webb is looking forward to next year for another great competition.

If you have any questions about the competition or would like assistance in hosting a SEAPerch event in your region please contact myself, Nathan Hagan, at nhagan12@webb-institute.edu
