Welcome to the Virginia Tech SNAME Student Section website and thanks for visiting! Joining SNAME and our associated student section provides many professional and social growth opportunities. Our SNAME chapter will be serving host to several speakers this Spring semester. Speakers will be talking to our professional society about current events applicable to the naval architecture field and will be providing several opportunities for professional growth through interviews for internships and full time positions. I encourage you to join SNAME and to also come participate in our meetings. Check the website for meeting updates and keep an eye on your email. If you want to be added to the listserv, then please send me an email. You can find other contact information under the associated tab.
Clearly one of the major topics of conversation over the last month focuses on the Deep Horizon tragedy in the Gulf. Dr. Neu has passed along an
excellent document
regarding the Deep Horizon and the chronology of its sinking.
