A Chemical Engineer by training, Maryam Ebrahimian has worked in the marine industry since 2010, as a design safety engineer and providing marine services support at Lloyd's Register. Since 2018, she has focused on energy storage projects. Maryam joined Corvus Energy in 2021 and draws on her knowledge of battery technology, regulatory and safety issues, and capital project execution to help Canadian vessel owner/operators advance the decarbonization of their in-service fleet and newbuild projects.
Abstract:
Big data, remote monitoring, and digital twin technologies are revolutionizing the operational landscape for shipowners and operators. These advancements offer unprecedented opportunities to reduce costs, enhance safety, and minimize operational downtime.
With the capability to remotely monitor near-real-time battery performance and utilize reliable models for predicting battery lifetime and safety, proactive maintenance planning becomes feasible. This allows for the anticipation of failures, troubleshooting, and streamlined State of Health testing, all of which contribute to fewer operational disruptions.
Continuous monitoring of battery system performance provides valuable insights to optimize energy efficiency and longevity, resulting in significant cost savings and improved return on investment over the system's lifetime. Moreover, these optimized systems contribute to enhanced safety, particularly in vessels where batteries serve as backup power sources.
For operators with extensive hybrid/electric fleets, the benefits of digital monitoring and solutions are even more pronounced. Fleet-wide visibility into system performance facilitates comprehensive operational oversight and cost-effective management strategies.
Join us to explore how operators and owners are harnessing the power of big data, machine learning, remote monitoring, and digital twin technologies to unlock operational efficiencies and achieve tangible benefits.
Corvus Energy, a leading provider of marine energy storage systems powering the majority of all-electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid vessels around the world, developed an industry-leading remote monitoring platform and was the first marine battery supplier to enable data-driven State of Health testing.
