Real-Time Weld Quality Control to Increase First Pass Yield - VIRTUAL EVENT

When:  May 28, 2026 from 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM (PT)
Associated with  Canadian Pacific

EVENT DESCRIPTION
The shipbuilding industry is under growing pressure to build faster without compromising quality, yet one of its most persistent bottlenecks remains weld quality control. This lecture will explore how Sonibel Instruments’ real-time weld quality control system can increase first pass yield by helping shipyards detect defects during welding, so they can be repaired immediately, before inspection. We will examine how real-time artificial intelligence enabled feedback can reduce costly rework, repeated inspections, and production delays, while improving throughput and giving welders greater confidence on the job. By grounding the discussion in the realities of shipyard production, labor constraints, and the rising demand for vessels and maritime infrastructure, the lecture will offer a practical view of how intelligent quality control can strengthen shipbuilding performance and help the industry build with greater speed, consistency, and resilience.

SPEAKER/PRESENTER
