Join Yorktown Institute to discuss the challenges and opportunities that face U.S. military logistics in the Indo-Pacific

America’s ability to project military power and maintain deterrence against China depends on more than warships, aircraft, and advanced weapons. It also depends on the maritime logistics networks needed to move and sustain U.S. forces.

With U.S. shipbuilding currently falling short of national needs, please join the Yorktown Institute for an exploration of the history and necessary revitalization of the Effective U.S.-Controlled (EUSC) fleet. This system enabled eligible foreign-flagged commercial vessels under American corporate ownership to be requisitioned for wartime service.

The EUSC fleet provided vital logistics support during World War II, and could provide the hull count necessary to sustain military operations during confrontations in distant theaters.
