EVENT DESCRIPTION
This technical webinar will present an overview of offshore energy infrastructure used for both fossil fuel and non-fossil energy systems. The session will highlight key engineering topics including:
• Offshore oil and gas production infrastructure
• Offshore renewable energy systems such as wind platforms
• Structural and environmental design considerations for offshore structures
• Operational and safety aspects of offshore energy facilities

A short Q&A session will follow the presentation.



SPEAKER/PRESENTER
Prof. Dr. Atilla İncecik

Atilla İncecik is a Professor of Offshore Engineering graduated from Istanbul Technical University before going on to complete his PhD in Ocean Engineering at the University of Glasgow, Scotland.

Throughout his career, he served as the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Head of Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering at the University of Strathclyde.

He is a global authority on hydrodynamic design, marine renewable energy, and green shipping.

Atilla Incecik received an honorary doctorate from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden for his research in green shipping and was awarded the SNAME David W. Taylor Medal for Notable Achivement in Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering.

He is also a recipient of the William Froude Medal awarded by The RINA, and has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Ocean Engineering journal.
