EVENT DESCRIPTION
As the SNAME Turkey Community, we are launching a new series titled “İz Bırakanlar Serisi (Icons of Maritime Series)”!
This series aims to create a platform where industry leaders share their experiences directly with students, strengthening knowledge transfer and inspiring the next generation of maritime professionals.
In the first session of the series, Bülent Hüseyinoğlu and Mehmet Işık will explore engineering, leadership, and entrepreneurship through their real-life career journeys.
Program Flow:
– 15:00 – Tea Talk: Networking session with tea, coffee, and refreshments

SPEAKERS/PRESENTERS
Bülent HÜSEYİNOĞLU
Bülent Hüseyinoğlu is a seasoned professional in the maritime industry with extensive experience across engineering and management roles. Throughout his career, he has developed a strong understanding of both the technical and operational aspects of the sector.
As the founder of United Marine, he has taken an active role in entrepreneurship within the maritime field. In addition, he served as the 49th Term Chairman of the Chamber of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (TMMOB GMO), contributing to the industry at an institutional level.
He brings a well-rounded perspective by combining technical expertise with leadership and strategic decision-making.
Mehmet IŞIK
Mehmet Işık is a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer with over 30 years of experience in the maritime industry. He began his career at sea as an engineer officer and later held key positions in shipyards, classification societies, and ship management companies.
He worked as a surveyor and lead auditor at leading classification societies such as Bureau Veritas and DNV GL, and managed fleet and technical operations at Medkon Lines.
He currently serves as General Manager at United Marine, where he is actively involved in fleet management, inspections, and operational processes.
His career reflects a strong combination of technical expertise and leadership experience, offering a comprehensive perspective on the maritime industry.
