COURSE OVERVIEW
This course provides in-depth technical guidance on the art and science of drydocking ships and vessels. Participants are guided through the full drydocking process from the fundamentals of drydocking, through core concepts, and advanced topics. The fundamentals include basic dry dock information, ship supports, and naval architecture. Core concepts focus on industry-standard procedures and calculations throughout all phases of a drydocking evolution. Advanced topics address special and related operations, emerging dry dock technologies, and lessons learned. Participation includes practical exercises, an exam, and dedicated time to review participants’ unique challenges.
Past participants have included representatives from shipyards, engineering companies, consulting firms, ship owners, and government agencies across six continents. Over 75% of all course attendees rate the course as excellent, with both experienced and inexperienced dry dock personnel reporting significant professional benefit.
