There are many advantages derived from the use of software tools in ship design and building, but during the General Arrangement phase the benefits even increase: ease of design, fast elements definition, re-use of information, etc. It is expected that in the future software vendors will reach further and thus allow greater information management though artificial intelligence, as well as virtual access through smart devices. In general, software systems provide tangible benefits through optimized processes, reducing design time and production, and therefore costs.
