Join us for the 2023 GL/GR Summer Meeting in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan on July 19-20th!
We kick off the event with an exciting group tour onboard the Original Soo Locks Boat Tours on July 19th. Experience the fascinating history and operation of the Soo Locks firsthand.
After the boat tour, transportation will be provided to the Kewadin Casino, where we'll host an ice-breaker reception featuring beverages and hors d'oeuvres. It's a great opportunity to connect and network with fellow attendees.
The main day, July 20th, promises a wealth of enriching experiences. Join us as the US Army Corps of Engineers will lead us on tours of the Soo Locks, including the New Lock currently under construction! Witness the future of this vital transportation system.
Additionally, we have arranged tours of the USCG Vessel Traffic Services Center, where a USCG expert will give a presentation on "Icebreaking 101." Expand your knowledge of this critical maritime activity.
To cap it off, explore the Museum Ship Valley Camp and its impressive collection of over 100 exhibits. Immerse yourself in maritime history and discover the stories of this legendary vessel.

** All attendees must wear appropriate attire during the afternoon Locks tour:
- Closed-toed shoes (preferably comfortable walking shoes for uneven terrain)
- Long pants (no shorts, skirts, dresses or capris)
- A sleeved-shirt (can be short-sleeved)
- All personal protective equipment will be provided by USACE
