The presentation will provide executive overview of ISO Technical Committee 67 activity with focus on ISO/TC67/WG4 reliability and cost standards.

ISO/TC67 harmonizes and manages worldwide standards regarding the oil & gas industry, and address e.g. equipment and offshore structures within the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries. The presentation will provide features of fit-for-purpose ISO standards and highlight their business need & value. Safety, quality and cost is vital in technology development and facilities design and operations to achieve and maintain safe and cost-efficient operational excellency. Production assurance & reliability management, system availability, equipment reliability and cost management support this.

By the presentation the attendees will get executive latest status and knowhow on globally acknowledged standards that will empower and accelerate how to capitalize on these standards within their company (operator, contractor or vendor, consultancies and regulators).

The standards to be focused are:
• ISO 14224:2016 ”Collection and exchange of reliability and maintenance data for equipment”
• ISO 20815:2018 “Production assurance and reliability management”
• ISO 15663:2021 “Life cycle costing”
• ISO 19008:2016 “Standard Cost Coding System for oil and gas production and processing.

Runar Ostebo, Advisor at Equinor

Runar Ostebo is advisor in Equinor for subsea technology and operation, and corporate responsibilities within technology qualification and standardization. He is member of the ISO/TC67 management committee, and is the ISO/TC67/WG4 convenor for reliability & cost standards.

He has broad experience in Equinor during 30 years within field development, project execution, quality assurance, operational technology, benchmarking and reliability management for a multitude of oil & gas projects globally. He was OREDA JIP Steering chairman for 10 years, and responsible for OREDA subsea reliability data collections for 20 years.

Furthermore, 10-year experience in international risk management consultancy and in drilling & well research, and as well-recognized blowout expert.  He has made 100+ presentations on international conferences within 40 years of experience. He has acted as session chair of seminars and was technical session chair at latest OTC 2019 in Houston.
