Onboard Carbon Capture and Storage for Ships – A Pioneering Solution - IN-PERSON EVENT

Description

Onboard Carbon Capture and Storage for Ships – A Pioneering Solution

EVENT DESCRIPTION
Onboard carbon capture and storage (CCS) is becoming increasingly attractive and viable on certain vessels, as an already implementable solution, forming part of a vessel owner and operator’s decarbonisation strategy, complementary to ongoing fuels developments and efficiency optimisations – deployable both for newbuild and retrofit projects. This lecture will cover the recent entry to the marine market of the Wartsila CCS solution, the systems offering, applicability to various vessel types, and operating experience to date.

SPEAKER/PRESENTER
John Grant is the General Sales Manager (Newbuild) for Wärtsilä Marine Power Division in UK and Ireland, and has worked in this role since 1995 covering all marine and offshore sectors, applications and projects, for main propulsion and power generation equipment and related systems. John is a Fellow of both IMarEST and RINA.
