SIMON SCHOFIELD
Chief Technical Officer, BAR Technologies
After graduating with a degree in Ship Science at Southampton University, Simon took time out indulging in his passion for sailing. Simon has spent over 20 years at the forefront of the technical development of racing yacht development. His wide-ranging experience includes multiple Americas Cup Campaigns, Volvo Ocean Races and Offshore and Inshore Grand Prix Race yachts.
Simon was head of design and engineering for Ben Ainslie Racing, the British entry for the 35th Americas Cup, before jointly founding BAR Technologies.
Simon leads the technical teams and has been instrumental in developing the business direction of the company.
Simon is considered a global authority in the advancement of Hydrofoiling technology having led teams pushing the technical evolution during its remarkable growth over the past decade and a half in the advanced yacht racing arena.
