    Hi All,

Welcome to the Canadian Pacific Section Community!

During SMC 2021 SNAME officially approved the creation of SNAME Canadian Pacific, a section dedicated to members in British Columbia. Originally combined with the states of Alaska, Washington, and Oregon in SNAME Pacific Northwest, SNAME Canadian Pacific was formed to simplify governance, ease administration, and promote industry collaboration within our province. To kick off our new section with a fresh start we're making a call for nominations and volunteers to form our executive committee. Roles and responsibilities are described below. If you are interested in helping reshape our community, or have someone in mind you'd like to nominate, please submit your entry by 03-17-2022 after which SNAME will prepare ballots for official elections.

    1. Chair - preside at all meetings of the Section and of the Executive Committee and be responsible for planning and supervising the program and activities of the Section
    2. Vice Chair - perform the duties of the Chair in the absence of the Chair. The Vice Chair shall assume the role of Chair upon conclusion of the Chair's terms of office.
    3. Meetings Chair - responsible for arranging suitable papers, with assistance as required from the Executive Committee, for presentation at meetings of the Section. The Meetings Chair shall be responsible for making all arrangements related to the Section meetings, including issuing meeting notices.
    4. Media Chair - oversee all publicity relating to the activities of the Section.
    5. Treasurer - have charge of the records and accounts of the Section and the collection and disbursement of funds. The Treasurer shall prepare a budget covering all projected income and expenses for each fiscal year. The Treasurer shall be responsible for being the point of contact to receive the Section funds twice a year.
    6. Technical and Research Representative - serve as a liaison between the Section membership and SNAME's Technical and Research Program.
    7. Young Professionals Coordinator - encourage other young professionals within the Section to be active and engaged in the work and meetings of the Section.
