During the 2020 navigation season, CSL tested various grades of biodiesel on the main engines of two Great Lakes ships. The trial started with a 50% blend of diesel and biodiesel and culminated with the testing of 100% pure biodiesel. This presentation will cover the tests and results to date.

Yousef El Bagoury

Yousef El Bagoury joined CSL in 2014 as a Marine Systems Designer before becoming a Vessel Manager then transitioning to his current role of Naval Architect where he is the Technical Lead for CSL’s biofuels project and company R&D.

Prior to joining CSL, Yousef sailed for 6 years on refrigerated cargo vessels and cruise ships before joining Weir Engineering at the Naval Engineering Test Establishment in Montreal conducting test and evaluation of environmental equipment for the Royal Canadian Navy

Yousef graduated in 2004 from the Universities of Strathclyde and Glasgow with a BEng Hons degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer.
