Panel H-8 Propulsion Dynamics Chair Scott Black reports a successful meeting at Virginia Tech's facility in Ballston, VA in January where we had twelve members physically present and four virtual members connected in from as far away as Melbourne, Australia. In addition to six technical presentations, there was extended discussion about how to increase outreach to encourage young engineers into propulsor research with SNAME, particularly as the technical publications from SNAME are considered to have lower standards than some other societies by academics and professionals. Offering to advise teams on STEM programs such as Solar Splash, Human Powered Submarine races and SeaPerch were among the opportunities discussed.
