Congratulations go out to Panel M-16 for holding a successful Propellers & Shafting Symposium 2015 (September 15-16, 2015 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott & Convention Center, Norfolk, Virginia) in coordination with the SNAME Hampton Roads Section.
SMC continues to work both independently, as well as with the indispensable support of the National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP), in updating the current T&R Bulletins offered through SNAME. Look for the new T&R 4-16 (HVAC) to be published before year’s end, as well as T&R 3-47 (Guide for Sea Trials).
As we see the use of natural gas for marine fuel gaining support throughout the country and abroad, it has been decided to split the current Panel M-43 (Alternate Fuels) into two; we will retain the Alternate Fuels Panel, and create a new “Marine Use of Natural Gas as Fuel”.
