SNAME Canadian Atlantic Section Sponsors Judging of Dalhousie Engineering Competition
Halifax, Nova Scotia – The Canadian Atlantic Section (CAS) of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) sponsored judges and prizes for the yearly Dalhousie University Engineering Planing Craft Student Design Competition led by SNAME member and professor, Dr. Mae Seto. Judging took place in Halifax at the DalPlex Pool on April 4th, 2019 which included judges from several other leading industries. A total of 5 design teams competed and each design was judged based on several categories including speed, maneuverability, deck wetting, and slamming. Door prizes such as T-Shirts and water bottles were provided by SNAME for all the teams involved and the winning team members also each received a one year SNAME student membership sponsored by CAS. Bravo Zulu to all participants and a special congratulations to Team 1’s Nick Saoud, Robert Mayhew, and Connor Martin on their first place win!
