The Canadian Atlantic Section cordially invites you to a two part Digital Twin series on the evening of November 20th, 2019!

Part 1: Digital Twin: Enough Talk, Get Started!
At the recent SNAME Maritime Convention in Tacoma, WA, a panel of industry stakeholders shared their insights and experience into the transformative impact of digitalization in shipbuilding and operations, and specifically, the role of the digital twin. David Males, moderator for this panel, will provide a recap of the presentations given by reach of the panelists that included Ryan Roberts (US Coast Guard), Leonard Pecore (Genoa Design International), Winston Pynn (NAPA Software), Dr. Gu Hai (ABS), Roger Nounou (GE Power Conversion), and Mark Debbink (Newport News Shipbuilding).

In his role as Director of Sales and Marketing for InnovMarine, David Males applies his knowledge and expertise, acquired from a 35-year career working in IT & Professional Services fields, to help clients
maximize their investment is technology solutions. David's previous experience, acquired during his time serving the industrial manufacturing and infrastructure (building/civil) sectors, allows him to offer a real-
world perspective to help the marine and shipbuilding industry address key challenges surrounding digital transformation, lifecycle management, and the impact of emerging technology on current and future workers.

Part 2: Class Goes Digital!
Lloyd's Register has developed the first ever data-driven compliance framework for the marine and offshore industry: 'Digital Compliance'. The increasing use and advancement of digital twins presents a significant opportunity to marine and offshore operators in terms of improving aspects of their operational performance and maintenance regimes, as well as allowing for greater transparency and repeatability in demonstrating compliance with internal and external requirements. Colin Clark, P.Eng. is the Americas Consultancy and Strategic Initiatives Manager for Lloyd's Register and the President of Lloyd's Register's Applied Technology Group.

Colin Clark, P.Eng. is the Americas Consultancy and Strategic Initiatives Manager for Lloyd's Register and the President of Lloyd's Register's Applied Technology Group. A Naval Architect by training, he has been involved with major marine and offshore projects for the past 15 years. He currently leads
a team that is innovating and applying technology for global solutions across a broad spectrum of domains. He is directly involved with developing solutions and services for clients in areas of digital data platforms and analytics, cyber, environment and sustainability, failure investigations, risk and advanced analysis.
