Please join the SNAME Chesapeake Section in a STEM outreach activity as part of the Patuxent River Appreciation Day (PRAD) on Saturday, October 7th! PRAD is an annual festival held at the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons, Maryland. The festival brings the local community and multiple organizations, including SNAME, together to celebrate the continued commitment to preserve the Patuxent River and its positive influence on the surrounding area.SNAME Chesapeake Section is excited to offer a hands-on STEM activity for kids in attendance. We will help teach the concepts of buoyancy as kids construct their own boats onsite out of basic materials and craft supplies to see whose boat can hold the greatest payload. We invite Section members to join us in this STEM activity where you will be able to work with kids, enjoy the ongoing festivities, and spread the word of SNAME and our industry. If you are interested in attending, please register accordingly so that we can include you on our event email distribution list for coordination. If you are interested in attending, but are unable to attend the entire time, no worries, volunteer "shifts" are available. For more information about the Patuxent River Appreciate Event, please check out the link provided below!
