EVENT DESCRIPTION

The SNAME Chesapeake Section is pleased and excited to kick off the month of October with a webinar on Tuesday, October 3rd. Mr. Timothy Keyser, Chief of the Design Branch at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Marine Design Center, will be presenting the Marine Design Center’s work and some of their current projects. The USACE Marine Design Center is a center of expertise for Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. They manage the design and construction of barges, workboats, floating cranes, dredges and other vessels for USACE as well as other federal agencies.

Several new construction project highlights include a Medium Class Hopper Dredge to replace the Dredge McFarland, Armor One mat sinking unit with advanced electronic and robotics integration, and the New York District battery hybrid drift collection vessel to replace the DCV Driftmaster.
