Meeting Report on Testing and Use of Marine VLSFO presented by David Hill at the SNAME Greek Section’s monthly meeting on December 4, 2019.
During the fourth section meeting for the 2019-2020season David Hill, Marine Sales Director – EMEA at Innospec Ltd, gave a presentation on the topic of Testing and Use of Marine VLSFO.
Mr. Hill took the floor and presented the results of Innospec testing programme of 0.5% S VLSFO. He concluded that these fuels need to be handled in a significantly different way to all other fuels in use today and provided general advice to vessel operators in dealing with the new fuels.
He allowed plenty of room for discussion at the end of his presentation.
The meeting was well-attended by representatives from all segments of the industry. They had the chance to network at the post-meeting reception which was sponsored by Innospec Ltd.
