The Fairweather is a robust Ro-Ro ferry vessel designed to supplement the aging fleet of the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS), serving communities across Alaska's Inside Passage and Prince William Sound. It will transport passengers, personal vehicles, commercial vehicles, and cargo, providing year-round connectivity for isolated coastal communities. Magellan Marine
Names: Andrew Oldmeadow, Hugh Donnelly, Spencer Brooks, and Zach Luebstorf
Magellan Marine plans to design an exploration blue water sailing yacht, able to sail anywhere from the high latitude arctic areas to the tropics.
The mission of the vessel is to provide the ability to sail safely into harsh sea environments while providing interior comforts, with small crew requirements to operate.
The vessel shall be able to operate in seclusion for weeks and must exhibit enough redundancies to not be stranded while on expeditions.
