T.J. Brackin

|
T.J. Brackin is currently the Manager of the Newport News, Virginia office of Bruce S. Rosenblatt & Associates, LLC (BSR). T.J. has just entered his ninth year with BSR, having started with the company in 2016 as a Naval Architect/Marine Engineer in the Alameda, CA office. T.J. worked through several positions to eventually succeed former Hampton Roads Section Chair, Scott Ripley, in running BSR’s largest office and programs. T.J. received his undergraduate degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Webb Institute, and his Masters of Business Administration from the College of William and Mary. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in California and Virginia. T.J. has been a member of SNAME since 2012, when he joined as a student member during his Freshman year at Webb. T.J. lives in Williamsburg, VA and enjoys spending time outside of work with his wife and children, particularly cooking and working on his home.

L.J. Bock
|
L.J. Bock is a licensed Professional Engineer with a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Webb Institute (Class of 2020). He has a broad range of experience in both commercial and government ship design as well as shipyard support engineering. He has particular interests in dredge design, complex vessel overhauls, and repowering projects.
L.J. currently works with Bruce S. Rosenblatt and Associates, where he contributes to practical and technically challenging marine engineering and vessel construction solutions. He has been actively involved with the SNAME Hampton Roads Section since 2023, previously serving as Treasurer/Secretary.
Outside of work, L.J. is an avid cook and outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, hiking, volleyball, and playing disc golf.

Jefferey Bowles

|
Jeff Bowles is currently the Chief Engineering office of Gibbs & Cox, assuming the role after 7 years as the Vice President of DLBA (formerly Donald L. Blount & Associates, Inc.) DLBA is a consultant naval architecture and marine engineering group supporting a wide range of market sectors in the maritime world. Jeff graduated from Webb Institute in 2000 with a degree in naval architecture and marine engineering, and then obtained a master’s in marine engineering from University of Newcastle in 2001. He signed on with DLBA in October 2001 and has never looked back. Jeff has a wide range of design, engineering, and program management experience with recreational, commercial, and military vessels. Jeff is a licensed Professional Engineer and a certified Project Management Professional. Quality time outside of the office is spent fishing, boating, or killing time outdoors at the family farm.
