EVENT DESCRIPTION
Geophysical and geological techniques image and map marine geology and infrastructure below the water to document in detail the existing conditions that AE’s and contractors will encounter during construction. By integrating the interpretation of multiple types of acoustic measurements below the water line, inSight Geoservices creates three-dimensional characterizations of the surface and subsurface. These 3D models de-risk planning, engineering, and construction of marine infrastructure by 1) modeling geomorphological and subsurface geological conditions in high resolution so that designs can be optimized for existing conditions, and 2) identify geohazards, utilities, and remnant infrastructure that might impede the constructability of marine infrastructure.
inSight Geoservices will present a range of results as examples of how geophysical
measurements have been used by AE’s to guide the planning, design, and rehabilitation of transportation, navigation, and shoreline protection assets in and beyond New York Harbor.
