This document provides a unique and practical guide to materials engineering for those in the maritime industry. It covers aspects of materials engineering, testing and evaluation, corrosion, and failure that are of specific interest to marine designers as well as those who maintain structure and machinery in the marine environment. The guide also provides information on non-destructive test and evaluation techniques and their use and addresses advance materials and processes. Additional references are provided to assist those who require more detailed information on a specific process. The Sea Trials Guide has continued to be an extremely popular Bulletin over the years but has long been in need of updating. Funding and technical support was provided by the National Ship Research Program to help with the update of this valuable document.
