More than 50 years (including 5-year shipyard apprenticeship) in the shipbuilding industry with extensive involvement in all aspects of shipbuilding, conversion and repair related to a wide variety of commercial vessels (Crude Carriers, Product Tankers, OBO’s, Bulk Self Unloaders [conventional and ITB units], Container ships, Passenger Liners, Cruise Ships, Yachts, Tugs, Ferries (conventional and cable), Patrol Boats, Work boats etc, Naval Combatants (CVN, LHA, LPD, DD, DDG, FF), and Naval Non-combatants (T-AO, T-AKR, T-ARC, T-AH, AOE, AOR, T-AGOS, AD etc).
Experience includes performing hands on design and engineering activities in the areas of naval architecture, ship structures, outfitting and arrangements and ship propulsion, during all phases of program activity from concept design to ship delivery, using both computer-aided and manual techniques. Extensive involvement in the development and presentation of proposals for major new construction and conversion projects; high level interaction and liaison with Navy, USCG and ABS personnel relative to technical, regulatory and contractual issues. Various levels of management experience including project management, department management, and consultancy management.
