EVENT DESCRIPTION
Join us for a unique Southwest Section February Technical meeting. Dr. Tim Vanderveen will join us to talk about the restoration of his1932 23.5ft. Hacker- Craft Triple Cockpit Runabout. This small piece of American small craft history was originally designed and built by and one of the oldest constructors of wooden motor boats in the world, the Hacker Boat Co. (founded in 1908), by visionary Naval Architect and Marine Engineer John L. Hacker (1877-1961). Dr. Vanderveen's presentation will briefly cover the history of Hacker-Craft and will cover extensively the re-build and restoration efforts.
Prior to the presentation, both in-person and online, participants will also have the opportunity to see the award-winning powerboat displayed on a trailer at the Southwestern YC.
