EVENT DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the presentation will be to highlight the development of the EWolf from onset to delivery at its berth, as well as discuss it supporting charging station.  We will cover how local regulations spurred the start of the project and how funding was critical to its realization. The design development process and vessel particulars will then be presented followed by the challenges in the construction process related to a first in class tug of this type. Lastly, the charging station particulars and its construction timeline will be presented.

 

SPEAKER/PRESENTERCharlie Jors, Chief Naval Architect, Crowley Engineering Services

Charlie Jors is the Chief Naval Architect at Crowley where he leads vessel design and marine engineering teams for the company’s engineering services group.  With nearly 20 years of naval architecture and marine engineering experience, Charlie has served in previous leadership roles on complex projects, involving vessel design and development, construction, structural analysis, conversions and modifications. Charlie earned a bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan and holds a Professional Engineering license.
