SNAME UNIWA Event’s Report

On Wednesday 13/04/2022 at 17:00, SNAME UNIWA organised the biggest event that was ever held by Naval Architect’s Universities in Greece , where it took place in the Conference Center of the University of West Attica (UNIWA). The event entitled: ‘’ Entering the Maritime Industry with SNAME : The Opportunities of a Young Professional ’’ and was hosted by the Student Council and the members of SNAME UNIWA student Section. It was an educative event, and aimed the students comprehend the opportunities and possibilities the occupation of the Naval Architect offers, though the experiences of young, renowned Young Professionals, for whom the impact of SNAME in their career was decisive.
The event was a big success. We had more than 220 attendances from Students and also a lot of special guests highly involved in the Maritime top Industries like BV, ABS, P&I Clubs, P&P Marine Consultans etc. . The feedback received was overwhelmingly positive, with 100 percent of participants commenting favorably on the experience.
When the event finished, many Students became interested to learn more about SNAME an wanted to join too.
Every day we receive a lot of new student members registrations and also more and more interest to join our SNAME UNIWA family ! Already, the Students and the University’s leadership asked us if we could keep organizing the same event every year. With the completion of this, we also gained more Sponsors and Supporters and they will help us organize more things (Like shipyards and Companies visits etc.)
During the event we were trying to promote SNAME Membership benefits and our achievements, like the 2nd place that we got at the SMC media competition. I likened SNAME to one big and supporting family for a Student.
