Paper Contest

For the 11th consecutive year, SNAME WES is organising a Paper Contest. This is a good opportunity for all students and young professionals of 35 years of age and under to submit and present a paper to SNAME WES and publish the paper on the SNAME website. The winner will have the opportunity to be endorsed on the SNAME Paper Contest during the SNAME Maritime Convention 2026 by the Chair of SNAME Western Europe Section.

CALL FOR PAPERS 

Who can participate?
The contest is open to all students and professionals of 35 years old and under associated with the marine industry. Participants are to be members of SNAME WES upon submittal of the final paper.

Schedule
Abstract to be submitted by Friday, 27th March 2026
Final paper to be submitted by Friday, 12th June 2026
Contest results announced on Friday, 24th July 2026

Awards
1st Prize - Lourdes (Nina) Elona Lilley Memorial Cash prize of £200, Certificate and medal
2nd Prize - Certificate and medal
