Title: Russian Arctic Offshore Update
Summary: The presentation will focus on Russian Arctic LNG projects, particularly the Arctic LNG 2 Project, including the effects of sanctions on those projects. Other topics to be covered are Russian Arctic oil exports, offshore exploration and new nuclear-powered icebreakers.


SPEAKER/PRESENTER
Ben Seligman, PhD, Oil and Gas Project Specialist, has been a close observer of 'Arctic' oil and gas development, particularly in Russia, since the mid-1990s when he undertook post-graduate research on the West Siberian Arctic gas industry at the Scott Polar Research Institute at the University of Cambridge, England. He then went on to work for Shell where he had project engineering roles on several Arctic and 'Arctic-like' projects, including Sakhalin 2, the Mackenzie Gas Project and Shell's Alaska Venture, and spent several years working on Arctic R&D. He has recently consulted for the governments of the NWT and Nunavut on gas monetization opportunities, notably LNG, throughout the Canadian Arctic. Ben is a former Chair of the SNAME Arctic Section and was sponsorship Chair for several Icetech conferences held in Canada and Alaska. Ben is based in Calgary.
