Nancy Ostin Earns Certified Association Executive (CAE) Credential - Highest Certification in the Association Management Industry

The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers is proud to announce that the Society’s Director of Membership and Marketing, Nancy Ostin, has earned the Certified Association Executive credential. The American Society of Association Executives created the CAE program in 1960 to “elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance, and designate those who demonstrate knowledge essential to the practice of association management.” Nancy joins Susan Giver-Nelson, CAE, as the second SNAME staff member to achieve the credential. Nancy has over 25 years of experience working for non-profit organizations. Her background includes working for a trade association, chamber of commerce, charitable community organization and currently a professional technical society. Her background includes membership, marketing, communications, meeting and event planning, development and chief staff executive. As Director of Membership and Marketing for the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, Nancy is responsible for retention and recruitment of members, member benefits and services, marketing and branding the many services and meetings of the Society and oversight of the recently redesigned website (new AMS, FMS and CMS tools) and private professional network launched in 2009. Nancy served as President of the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce, Director of Development & Communications for the Delaware-Raritan Girl Scout Council, and Director of National Trade Shows and meetings for the National Needlework Association. She is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston with a BA in Communications and holds advanced degree from the Universite d’Aix-Marseilles, Aix-en-Provence France. She is a graduate of the Institute of Organizational Management run by the US Chamber of Commerce. She serves on the Board of Directors for Pinnacle Federal Credit Union as well as boards and committees of numerous non-profits and community service organizations. An avid reader, Nancy enjoys travel, theater and the arts. Nancy and her daughter Dallas reside in New Jersey. The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers is an internationally recognized non-profit, technical, professional society of individual members serving the maritime and offshore industries and their suppliers. Founded in 1893, the Society comprises over 10,000 individuals throughout the United States, Canada and abroad. Membership is open to all qualified applicants in or associated with the maritime, offshore, and small craft industries
