Standing Committees

SNAME conducts its work through a number of committees. Standing Committees govern and manage the Society's operations by establishing policies and managing staff.

Standing Committees have dedicated microsites which serve as their main online hubs.  These microsites feature  libraries and eGroups with content available only to committee members.  Links to the Standing Committee microsites are below.  Committee members may wish to bookmark these microsites for easy access to committee messages, work documents, and other content

Audit Committee  

The Audit Committee consists of five members, the majority of whom shall be members of Council.
The Committee shall be responsible for the selection of the independent accountants and shall discuss their work with them. The Committee shall be responsible for the review and evaluation of all reports, including the annual financial statements, prepared by the independent accountants prior to approval by Council.
The Committee shall also insure that action is taken by SNAME’s staff regarding any recommendations with respect to internal accounting and management controls. The Committee shall report to the Council annually as a minimum.

 

Awards Committee  

Reviews, recommends and approves applications for SNAME Awards.

SMC Papers Committee  

The Annual Meeting Papers committee reviews abstracts and works with authors to prepare papers for the technical program and "Transactions"

 

Student Section Advisors Committee  

Student advisors provide critical support to their students.

 

Young Professionals Committee
