10th Annual Symposium of the Western Europe Section

October 2019

Event participants from Aalto: Spyros Hirdaris, Juho Särkkä & Alexander Jerne

Having just recently joined SNAME, this event was the very first for the student section of Aalto University. The symposium consisted of interesting technical presentations and discussions from industry experts on board the former convoy escort ship, HQS Wellington. The event included a buffet lunch, which enabled for a great opportunity to get to network with other students, scientists and engineers.

The next day, the students participated in a networking event at Thames Barrier. The visit included a guided tour where the visitors learned about the purpose, technology and history of the Thames Barrier.

We express our gratitude to the event organizers, sponsors and attendees!
