Grand Manan Adventure
The Grand Manan Adventure is the Province of New Brunswick’s brand new, 85 metre, 82 car ferry.
The new vessel replaces the Grand Manan V as the main vessel operating the route between
Black’s Harbour and Grand Manan Island, in the Bay of Fundy. STX Canada Marine was retained
by the builder, Eastern Shipbuilding Group of Panama City, Florida to verify the vessel’s contract
Key Performance Indicators (such as speed performance, endurance, seakeeping, etc.) prior to
signing of the construction contract, and to provide the transitional engineering of the vessel –
developing a concept design into a functional engineering package for the shipyard. This
presentation gives an overview of the vessel’s design, performance, and engineering.
