Jeffrey J. Hough
Naval Surface Warfare Center – Carderock (NSWC-CD)
Mr. Jeffrey Hough, Senior Scientist and Technical Manager, is the US Navy Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Distinguished Engineer for Ship Design at Naval Surface Warfare Center – Carderock (NSWC-CD). He is a USN Acquisition Professional with over 40 years of experience in the naval engineering and shipbuilding. He is an expert in naval ship design, design process and computer aided design having published technical papers in these areas.
He was Director of the US Navy’s Center for Innovation in Ship Design, and Division Head Future Concepts and Ship Design Integration Processes at NSWC-CD. Previously he was a Senior Naval Architect for ship design and acquisition at NAVSEA headquarters working on ship design teams for over 20 naval ship programs. He was an R&D program manager for pre-acquisition ship design efforts and ship design planning, and the Affordability Through Commonality program; Division Director for HM&E R&D; and Division Director - Future Fleet and Force Concepts Division. He received BSE (1978) and MSE (1979) degrees in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from The University of Michigan; and is a 1994 graduate of the Defense Systems Management College Advanced Program Management Course. Mr. Hough is a SNAME Fellow and Life member of the American Society of Naval Engineers.
