We are Alexandria student chapter of SNAME or SNAME Alexandria for short.
And that will take us to the next points:

   - What is SNAME
   - Who and Why we started a student chapter

First “what is SNAME":

Society of naval architects and marine engineers or SNAME for Short. From a general perspective SNAME is an international non-profit organization that include all about marine industries. And we as Naval Architects, marine engineers and offshore engineers in SNAME Alexandria are a student chapter of SNAME. You can learn more about SNAME from Here.

And now to the next point “Who and Why we started a student chapter”.

We are a students of Naval Architecture, marine engineering and offshore engineering in Alexandria university. Our objectives is to put more spotlights on our field, spread knowledge and the important role of our field between Students. And provide Naval Architecture, marine engineering and offshore engineering students and graduates with all the materials, tool ,events and training opportunities that would help them in their fields.

SNAME Alexandria won the 3rd place in "THE DR. JAMES A. LISNYK STUDENT SHIP DESIGN COMPETITION"

Won the first place in the ELECTRONIC MEDIA COMPETITION 2020
SNAME Alexandria visited MOC an Exhibition take place every year in a different country and it hosts maritime service and petroleum companies.

Chesapeake Sailing Yacht Symposium:

you have an interest in sailing technology but have never attended the CSYS, don't miss out any longer. The next symposium is scheduled for March of 2022 and designers from as far away as Australia and Japan will do what it takes to get here. By attending the symposium you have the opportunity to visit with old friends and make new acquaintances in the sailing world. Coffee breaks between presentation sessions overflow with enthusiastic sailing talk and provide a wonderful opportunity for authors and attendees to socialize.

OTC:

Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) will take place 16–19 August 2021. Mark your calendar to attend this conference.

What is Student Steering Committee?

are a standing committee of student representatives given the unique opportunity by SNAME to help guide the Society and make it responsive to its younger members. From undergraduate and graduate students to recent graduates, with representatives from around the globe, all are committed to active student involvement within SNAME. The committee is led by five elected student officers, an appointed officer, and the student chair from each Society Student Section.
