Welcome to ITU-SNAME Student Section website!
We are so glad to be part of this community. Our goal is to strengthen and promote research and information sharing in marine technology, shipbuilding and other maritime sectors, to ensure that the global sector and technology developments are transferred and adapted to ship engineering education faster and more permanently.The ITU-SNAME Student Section established in this context will provide the development with the support of sector representatives and students.
Student section will be held monthly meetings and regular industrial trips which help the students to catching up with developments and evolves in the shipbuilding and ship designing industry. In these events may also have guests from SNAME and sector, to help to students to build network before they gratuated.

SNAME TURKEY MEETING
Students and Profesionals Met in Istanbul Technical University
ITU-SNAME Student Section organized meeting for SNAME members living in Turkey and students who are willing to join the team. More than 40 students from there universities and profesionals met in this activity and had the chance of exchanging ideas and networking.
ABS Turkey Country Manager Mr. Seyfettin TATLI and ABS Greece Mr. Stamatis FRADELOS made the presentations about ABS Classifications, IMO Regulations, MARPOL Amendments and a new regulations of Ballast Water Management.
Attendees includes both students from local universities and profesionals from the surrounding communities exchange the ideas, discuss the ways to engage the larger community, and how students and profesionals can support each other.
We would like to thank our consultants Prof. Dr. Ömer GÖREN and Prof. Dr. İsmail HELVACIOĞLU for their support during this event.

Let Them Know About ITU-SNAME
To reach the newcomers in our faculty, we joined the seminar with Marine Engineering Students Club (GMK) on the 29th september. We explained the meaning and vision of SNAME for students and shared our missions and plans with them.
