The mission of the Hull Structure Committee
(HSC) is to develop guidance to help designers and others concerned with the
design and maintenance of hull structures. In support of this task the HSC evaluates relevant trends, identifies
gaps in available guidance, undertakes research, and develops up to date
guidance useful to the marine community. The scope currently includes design methods, hull loads, strength
assessment, vibrations, materials and hull instrumentation and the work of the
HSC is carried out by six panels.
