The mission of the Marine Forensics Committee is to investigate marine casualties using modern day naval architecture tools and techniques, so as to better understand what happened and where appropriate and possible to prevent similar casualties from happening in the future. The Marine Forensics Committee will also endeavor to sponsor needed research into elements of a ship casualty that will aid in future ship design and operation.
