The Ha Yang Shi You 117 Floating Storage Production and Offloading Vessel (Bo Hai Peng Bo FPSO) began production off the shore of northern China in May, 2009.  The operation is conducted by ConocoPhillips, a company with numerous US and international SNAME members.

Wells are drilled from one of five massive wellhead platforms, in addition to the single production platform initially developed to explore the field.  Production feeds into a riser/utility platform (RUP) which then sends the production to the FPSO for processing - up to 200,000 barrels per day - storage of up to two million additional barrels and then offloading into tankers.  Read more about this exciting effort.

SNAME rotates the SNAME.org main banner picture on a monthly basis.  Members are encouraged to submit digital photos of the vessels, platforms and other craft resulting from member work for inclusion on SNAME.org main banner.  Only high-quality, horizontally oriented digital images of content with an obvious connection to SNAME members will be considered for inclusion.  All decisions on banner photos are made by SNAME Technical Director, Prof. Alan Rowen.  Members should submit photos with a short description to Professor Rowen at arowen@sname.org.
