On Friday the 16th of February, the University of Strathclyde SNAME Student Section organised the 2nd Annual University of Strathclyde SNAME Symposium at Cathedral Wing, 406a in Glasgow. Committee members, Kritonas Dionysiou (Chairman), Nikolaos Koutsodontis (Vice-Chair), Dimitrios Tsevdos (Secretary), Adamantios Stefanidis (Communication Officer), Iliya Vulchev (Treasurer) and Alan Lim (Web-Master) were joined by other SNAME members from around the world.

The event began with the welcome remarks by Dr. Gerasimos Theotokatos, the Deputy Head of the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering at Strathclyde. Soon after Nina Lilley and Keith Lilley (Chair and Vice chair of SNAME WES respectively) continued the event by talking about the membership benefits. |

The first presenter of the day was Dr. Jan Otto, technical director of ABS, who shared information about the EEDI Implication from a Design and Verification Prespective.

Finally, Ms. Nina Lilley presented the awards and shortly after that at 17:00, Dr. Andrea Coraddu gave the closing remarks of the event.

Coming away from the event, all University of Strathclyde members felt reinvigorated with the maritime industry and Naval Architecture as a profession after meeting many new people of various different backgrounds with a variety of experience and getting to visit the Riverside Museum and the historic Tall Ship.
