Fairfield Heritage Museum Visit

On October 18th, 2023, the Student Section of Strathclyde's SNAME organized an engaging field trip to the Fairfield Heritage Museum in Glasgow.

This visit offered our students a unique opportunity to explore the historic building that once served as the headquarters of the renowned Fairfield Shipbuilding & Engineering Company. Participants delved into the rich legacy of shipbuilding on the Clyde, gaining a deeper appreciation of the industry that shaped Glasgow's maritime history.

The day began with a gathering at the Henry Dyer building, followed by a group journey via the subway to the museum. The event was both informative and interactive, sparking meaningful discussions about the engineering achievements of the past and their influence on modern practices.

We are proud to provide such enriching experiences that connect our students with the heritage and future of naval architecture and marine engineering!
