Engine Room Simulation Event

On 13 November 2024, the University of Strathclyde's SNAME Student Section organised an Engine Room Simulation event at the City of Glasgow College's Riverside Campus.

This event provided naval architecture students with a hands-on opportunity to explore the operations of a ship's engine room. Participants engaged with the college's state-of-the-art full mission engine room simulator, which is part of a comprehensive simulator suite that includes four labs dedicated to electronic navigation systems and GMDSS training. This facility is recognised as one of the most modern working engine rooms in a UK educational institution, underscoring the world-class training environment available to marine engineering students.

The event also served as a valuable opportunity for networking, allowing attendees to connect with fellow SNAME members and deepen their involvement in the society. The organisers express their gratitude to all participants and look forward to hosting similar enriching experiences in the future.
